Is Anyone Out There?

So I was just wondering... What's the point in being required to post on a blog every week if no one is required to respond? We have enough that we're required to do without doing things that aren't required! :)

Providing for the Lazy

There are not many things in the world that my husband and I are as outraged by as Food Stamps. We used to work at a grocery store and we'd see people ALL the time in the store with their hair professionally done, their nails professionally done, talking on a cell phone... all things that my husband and I (at the time) could never afford. Next thing you know, the person is whipping out their Food Stamp card to pay for their pop, candy, cakes, chips, ribs, fancy cheeses, and a whole list of other things that my husband and I couldn't afford. What infuriated us the most was that these people get Food Stamps solely because they were irresponsible enough to have lots of kids, while my husband and I had been responsible enough to NOT have kids. And because we hadn't had any kids, we didn't qualify for financial aid for school. So while these drains on society are spending THEIR money on their hair and MY money on their unecessary foods, me and my husband have to scrape by to get together enough money for me to go to school to better myself! So, where are this country's priorities?

Beyond annoying

I recently discovered that Oprah makes $260 million dollars a year! For all you Oprah-worshippers out there who love her because she does such good deeds, I want you all to know this: for one half of a million dollars, I'll do everything Oprah does and more! -- My point is, you love her because she's a "good" person. But anyone will be a good person if they're making over $700,000 dollars a day!

Who needs their identity?

Well my husband got into it with a manager at AMC24 because the clerk at the counter wouldn't check my husband's ID for his credit card. My husband took it to the manager and the manager said "It's not our policy to check IDs." WHAT?! It's not your policy to make sure the card I'm using doesn't belong to someone else? It's not your policy to make sure I'm not trying to steal someone else's identity? Never mind that it's not your policy to tell the customer that he's right!
